Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) at NorDent Smile Dental Clinic
General Information About the Clinic and Appointment Booking
Since when has NorDent Smile been operating, and where does the name come from?
Our NorDent Smile Dental Clinic in Mórahalom was founded in February 2014. The name dates back to our early years when the clinic initially focused on dental tourism, especially on treating Norwegian (NOR) patients. Today, having outgrown the initial focus and thanks to our continuous professional development, we have become one of the most visited and highly recognized dental clinics in Mórahalom and the surrounding area.
Where is NorDent Smile located, and how can I book an appointment?
Our NorDent Smile Dental Clinic in Mórahalom is located at 6782 Mórahalom, Szent László park 3., inside the Móra-Vitál building. You can book an appointment by phone at +36 70 252 5595 or online via our website: https://nordentsmile.hu/kapcsolat/
What is the average waiting time for an appointment?
We do our best to receive our patients at the agreed time. We place great emphasis on punctuality for pre-scheduled appointments, so waiting times are minimal. In urgent cases, delays may occur, and we kindly ask for your understanding.
Do you have modern diagnostic equipment?
Yes, our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including digital X-ray devices and an intraoral scanner. These ensure precise diagnosis and the highest quality of treatment.
Do you provide a guarantee for your treatments?

Tooth Preservation Treatments (Fillings, Root Canal Treatment)
Are fillings or root canal treatments painful?
Thanks to modern dentistry, these procedures can be performed completely painlessly under local anesthesia. We make every effort to ensure that you feel as comfortable as possible during the treatment. Root canal treatments are performed with advanced endomotor technology to achieve precise and effective results.
How long does a dental filling last?
The durability of a filling depends on many factors (oral hygiene, chewing force, size, and material). Generally, high-quality composite fillings can last for many years or even decades, but regular check-ups are necessary, as discoloration or wear may require replacement. Our clinic uses premium GC filling materials to ensure the best aesthetics and durability.
Aesthetic Dentistry (Teeth Whitening, Porcelain Veneers)
Is teeth whitening safe? Does it damage the enamel?
The Beyond Polus Advanced whitening treatment used in our clinic, under the supervision of a dentist or dental hygienist, is completely safe. The process takes place under controlled conditions and does not damage the enamel. Temporary tooth sensitivity to cold may occur, which disappears shortly afterward.
How white will my teeth become, and how long will the result last?
The result varies individually, but teeth can become up to 3-4 shades lighter. With proper oral hygiene and by avoiding strongly colored foods/drinks (coffee, tea, red wine, smoking), the result can last from 1 to 1.5 years.
Can fillings or crowns be whitened as well?
No, existing fillings or crowns cannot be whitened. After whitening, they may appear darker than the natural teeth. In such cases, we recommend replacing them with new ones that match the lighter shade about a week after whitening when your tooth color stabilizes.
What can be corrected with porcelain veneers, and how much tooth preparation is required?
Porcelain (ceramic) veneers are an excellent solution for correcting various aesthetic issues, such as:
– Slight misalignment of teeth
– Mild discoloration or stains
– Differences in tooth size between neighboring teeth
– Irregular tooth shape or size
– Gaps (diastema) between teeth
To prepare the teeth, only minimal reduction is required — typically between 0.3 and 0.7 mm. In some cases, “non-prep” veneers are possible, requiring no tooth reduction, depending on the position and condition of the teeth.
Dental Prosthetics and Implants
What is a dental implant, and who is it suitable for?
A dental implant is a titanium artificial root surgically placed into the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. It can be used to replace any missing tooth, provided the jawbone has adequate width and density. Our clinic uses implant systems such as Nobel Biocare and Dentium.
Is implant placement painful?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, making it painless. Some mild pressure or tension may be felt. Post-surgery discomfort is usually mild and can be managed with over-the-counter painkillers.
How long does the full implant process take?
After implant placement, a healing period of about 3–6 months is needed (osseointegration) for the implant to fuse with the bone. After that, the abutment and crown are made. The full process usually takes 4–8 months depending on bone quality and the individual case.
What is the difference between metal-ceramic and monolithic zirconium crowns, and which should I choose?
Metal-Ceramic Crown:
– Structure: The crown has a strong metal base covered with ceramic layers for a natural appearance.
– Advantage: A proven, durable solution that has been used for decades.
– Disadvantage: Over time, if the gum recedes, a gray metal edge may become visible at the gumline. Its light-transmitting ability is lower than zirconium, making it slightly less aesthetic for front teeth.
Monolithic Zirconium Crown (Zirconium Dioxide):
– Structure: The crown is entirely metal-free, made from a single block of high-strength zirconium dioxide ceramic.
– Advantage: Excellent aesthetics and translucency similar to natural teeth; completely biocompatible and non-allergenic.
– Disadvantage: Typically belongs to a higher price category.
Oral Hygiene and Prevention
Why are regular dental check-ups and professional cleanings important?
Regular dental check-ups (at least once a year) help detect problems early before they become severe. Professional cleaning (scaling and polishing) removes tartar and plaque buildup, preventing gingivitis, periodontal disease, and tooth decay. It is generally recommended once or twice a year.
